Throwback Thursday

So I decided to do a few different blog posts throughout the week in between book reviews. The first is what I will call Throwback Thursday. There are so many amazing books that I have read and would like to share with others. So I just scrolling through my “Read” list on Goodreads starting with my highest rated books. Every week I will add a few books I have really enjoyed with a brief review and I am hoping you might find a new favorite.

Unravel (Fairfax #1) by Calia Read

Unravel fits into a lot of different categories, including mystery and new adult, which I normally don’t really enjoy together but this was definitely a 5 star book for me. This book is based around the main character, Naomi Carradine who finds herself in a psychiatric hospital confused as to how she got there are what is real. This book actually wasn’t what I expected at all and had a very unforeseen plot twist. Unravel is one of those books where I spent the entire book trying to figure out the plot twist and I wasn’t even close. This book really took me by surprise and I definitely recommend it if you are looking for a romance/new adult book with some mystery and thriller added to it.

Dangerous Girls by Abigail Haas

I can’t even tell you how many times I have recommended this book to people. It is one of my all time favorite books. This one is both a young adult book, as well as a mystery/thriller. Dangerous Girls follows Anna while she is on spring break in Aruba, having the time of her life, until her best friend is found murdered. As the local police begin to investigate, all the evidence starts to point to Anna and she ends up trapped in a foreign prison. This is definitely on the darker end of YA as it does include some sex and drug abuse, but I still consider it to be YA. I have actually been meaning to re-read this book for some time and am hoping to do so in the near future. Dangerous Girls explores the sometimes dangerous relationships between teenage girls as well as the murder at hand. The book had me guessing the entire time and the ending honestly was amazing. After reading Dangerous Girls, I promptly read Dangerous Boys by Abigail Haas, which is not related and is a stand alone, but it is also great. I am now patiently waiting for the author to release another book.

So that is it for this first week, has anyone read Unravel or Dangerous Girls? Feel free to tell me your thoughts or recommend any books that are similar to these!
