In addition to reading, I love watching documentaries and movies and thought that I would start doing a monthly wrap up post including the movies I have watched that month. I am going to use the same rating system that I do for books which is on a scale of 1-5, 5 meaning I loved it and 1 meaning I didn’t like it at all. Documentaries are hard to rate, so I think I probably won’t rate them. I will bold any titles that I really loved. I will also clarify the topic of the documentary if it isn’t clear from the title and list where I watched it! Although I also love my TV shows, I really like watching documentaries and non-fiction TV; I like history, as well as current events and I enjoy learning, whether it is through reading or film. I also often watch movies I have seen before while I am working and blogging, so I am going to list those under re-watch. So here is my September wrap up for documentaries and movies!

I watched a lot of movies and documentaries this month. I often re-watch movies while working or blogging. I really liked The Bleeding Edge (Netflix), it is a documentary focused on the dangers of medical devices. The problem is actually quite a lot larger than I thought and I found this one to be really interesting. Reversing Roe (Netflix) was another documentary that I found particularly interesting this month. This documentary started when Roe vs. Wade was passed and looked at all of the legislation that has either been passed, or has tried to be passed, since then. You may have noticed I have watched quite a few documentaries on this topic and it is because its a topic that I have become more interested in over the years as my opinion has shifted slightly. We won’t go into that but I thought this was an interesting take on looking at the topic.
Movie wise, Jurassic Park: Fallen Kingdom was by far my favorite and I’m excited for the next movie. I have been meaning to watch Mother! for quite a while, as I am a big fan of Jennifer Lawrence, but it just wasn’t my jam. I knew through reading some articles prior to and after watching the film, what all the symbolism was, but it just was not for me. Interesting concept, but poorly executed. I also re-watched the entire Twilight series because it had been a while and Twilight forever guys. The first movie is pretty terrible between the bad makeup and bad special effects, however I enjoyed re-watching the rest of the series. Twilight was my first fandom and although I do not believe I will ever re-read the books again (I think I have probably read the entire series like 5-7 times back in my fangirl days) it was fun to re-watch the movies.
