De-cluttering my TBR

Recently I have seen so many bloggers posting about removing books from their Goodreads “To Be Read” list and decided to do the same. So I had 2,044 books marked as TBR on Goodreads and yes I know that’s fairly absurd. So I started looking through by date, starting with the oldest I had added and sorting through them. I deleted a total of 40 books and plan on going through the rest week by week and deleting more. I looked at each book and based on reading the synopsis, looking at the overall rating and the rating that bloggers I follow gave the book, I decided to keep it on my TBR or delete it. So here are the first 30 I deleted, if one of them is a book you really loved, feel free to comment and let me know!

Silence (Hush, Hush #3) by Becca Fitzpatrick

Finale (Hush, Hush #4) by Becca Fitzpatrick

Snow Falling on Cedars by David Guterson

The Descendants by Kaui Hart Hemmings

The English Patient by Michael Ondaatje

The Lake by Anna Lisa Grant

The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson

The Art Forger by B.A. Shapiro

The Language of Flowers by Vanessa Diffenbaugh

The Taste of Salt by Martha Southgate

What You Left Behind by Jessica Verdi

Broken Grace by E.C. Diskin

Unbecoming by Rebecca Scherm

Forget Me by K.A. Harrington

Paper Towns by John Green

The Line by Teri Hall

Fire Country by David Estes

Remember Me This Way by Sabine Durrant

Black Out by Lisa Unger

The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of De-cluttering and Organizing by Marie Kondo

House of Sand and Fog by Andre Dubus III

Under Your Skin by Sabine Durrant

The Infinite Moment of Us by Lauren Myracle

Arena One: Slaverunners by Morgan Rice

Tonight the Streets Are Ours by Leila Sale

Ashes, Ashes by Jo Treggiari

The Pledge by Kimberly Derting

Garden of Stones by Sophie Littlefield

Beastly by Alex Finn

Let’s Get Lost by Adi Aisaid

I remember liking the first two books in the Hush, Hush series, but it’s been so long since I have read them, I barely remember them and I just don’t really have a huge interest in that particular story line in YA fantasy. A lot of the other books, I have seen the movie adaptions several times, like Beastly, The English Patient and The Decedents, so perhaps in the future I may read them, but for now I am going to remove them. The rest I just didn’t have an interest in anymore after reading the synopsis and looking at the ratings. Please tell me someone else has thousands of books listed as TBR on Goodreads haha?
