January Wrap Up

So I read a total of 9 books this month, which is a lower number then I normally read, but I did read some really good books and finally am getting caught up on some ARCs. The books at the top are from my personal TBR and are either books I own or borrowed using my library’s e-lending program. The books at the bottom are ARCs or review copies from publishers.

Outlander (Outlander #1) by Diana Gabaldon  5/5 stars

Virgins (Outlander #0.5) by Diana Gabaldon  5/5 stars

Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon  2/5 stars

Member of the Family: My Story of Charles Manson, Life Inside His Cult and the Darkness That Ended the Sixties by Diana Lake  4/5 stars

Sky In The Deep by Adrienne Young  5/5 stars

The Price Guide to the Occult by Leslye Walton  3/5 stars

The House on Foster Hill by Jaime Jo Wright  3/5 stars

Restore: Break Out of Your Past and Into God’s Future by Vince Antonucci  3/5 stars

Sadia by Colleen Nelson  3/5 stars

So Outlander was of course amazing! I read this series in kind of an odd way; I watched the first two seasons of the TV show, then I read the 3rd book, Voyager, followed by watching the 3rd season of the show. I decided to go back and read the first 2 books and I am so happy I did. Not only do I love the Outlander story and the characters, but I love the authors writing. I also read Virgins, which is a prequel novella to Outlander and I really enjoyed that as well, as it filled in some information about about Jamie and Ian prior to Outlander beginning. Sky In The Deep was absolutely amazing and if you haven’t added it to your TBR and pre-ordered the book, do it now. I already pre-ordered a hardcover edition because not only is the book now one of my favorites, but the cover is amazing. It seems to always be hit or miss with ARCs, especially if it’s a debut or a newer author, but I am telling you, this book was amazing. Right now, I believe it is meant to be a stand alone and has a publishing date of April 24th, 2018. I am hoping that because the book is getting such great feedback, that the author will either write a sequel or turn this into a series. I highly, highly recommend it and can’t wait to see what the author writes in the future. What were your favorite books you read this month?
