June Wrap Up

I read a total of 15 books this month. A lot of them were ARCs and review copies I was trying to catch up on. I have said this before but I am going to say it again. I am so very grateful to receive both advanced reading copies and review copies from publishers, especially because I have only been blogging for about a year. And because I am new to blogging, I accepted any request to review books in the past year. Now that I have been blogging for a little while, I finally started declining requests for reviews on books I really wasn’t interested in. I have so many books on my own TBR list and I haven’t been able to get to a lot of them recently. Thanks to all the publishers who send my ARCS/review copies; I look forward to continuing to read and review books that I am truly interested in! The books at the top are from my own TBR list and are books I either own or borrow digitally from the library and the books at the bottom are ARCs or review copies from publishers!

So I read some great books this month! I finally started the Harry Potter series. I know, I know. I actually read the first 2 books many years ago in college and never read the rest. So after lots of pressuring from my Hogwarts obsessed sister and several bookstagram friends, I re-read the first 2 books and continued on. And of course I absolutely love the series so far. I also read my first book by Christina Lauren and I also really loved that. I do really like the NA genre, but I have to say I feel like I’ve read a lot of books in that genre that I didn’t like. Sorry 50 Shades of Grey lovers but that just isn’t my jam. I’ve really enjoyed NA written by authors such as Colleen Hoover, Tarryn Fisher, Jamie McGuire and some from Claire Contreras and Brittainy C. Cherry. A lot of the other books I read in the genre all seem kind of like the same story, just with a different billionaire and that’s just not my thing. I like romance and yes, I enjoy sex and the authors above have done a good job including those elements with actual unique story lines. Christian Lauren’s writing was fantastic and I laughed so much while reading it and luckily, I own about 10 more books by the author and I can’t wait to read them. I really enjoyed Final Girls by Riley Sager and highly recommend it if you enjoy thrillers!

Wooooo so many Harry Potters read this month! So glad you’re liking them too, I feel like Harry Potter should have a special place with every reader. Also kind of jealous of Final Girls, I want to read it but I just put myself on a book buying ban.
