Have you ever considered your life as an audition? Regardless of who or where we are, we are constantly–often unconsciously–auditioning for a part. Loving wife. Amazing employee. Crafting queen. Socialite. All we really want is to be loved, affirmed, and accepted. What if we could learn to live the life we have always been auditioning for without all the stress? Chasing Famous is a redemptive book that teaches us how to take the focus off ourselves and shift it back on to the glory of God. Written by a professional actress who readily admits that she is the most self-centered person she knows, Chasing Famous provides practical and sometimes humorous examples of scriptural truth that will help you master the natural self-centered tendencies of life. Once you’ve mastered these issues–and you can–your story will turn the spotlight on God where, you’ll soon discover, what it means to truly live.

This book helps to remind readers that we were all created with and for a purpose. We are all meant to do something and be something. And I think that there are a great deal of people out there who could use this type of encouragement, especially when they might be feeling useless or are lacking direction. The book is broken down into 3 sections; Your Story For the Splendor of God, Your Gifts for the Glory of God and Your Every Day for the Glory of God. Within each section there are also individual chapters that cover a variety of topics. Each chapter includes scripture that relates the topic at hand and “Questions to Consider” as the end of the chapter that help the reader further understand what they learned throughout the chapter and apply it to their life. One of the main lessons we can take from the book is that to find our real purpose is to completely trust in God’s plan for us. The author uses biblical references, scripture and her own experiences to explain how our true purpose can only be found through God.

Overall, I enjoyed the book and the author’s writing. I also enjoyed the book was set up and found it very easy to read. The book has a great message that most of us could benefit from focusing on more in our live. Thank you to the publisher for sending me an advanced reading copy of this book.
